I'm not sure why I've not been blogging but life just seems SO BUSY!! And every time I say that I'm learning not to criticize myself for 'not handling more, since I don't have any kids'. If I had kids, I'd be busy in a different way, right?
One of the big (pardon the pun) by-products of infertility and multiple pregnancy loss has been, in addition to clinical depression, a lot of weight gained and a more sedentary lifestyle.
This is not good people.
I am NOT a skinny girl!!!
So I may be turning to friends in the blog-o-sphere to get a little help with this.
Y'all kept me sane while I walked through the darkest valley. I'm hoping you might help me stay motivated while I climb the highest mountain!!!
Once I'm home I will be BRAVE and post a recent pic. I will also post a pic from about 6 or 7 months before I started trying to get pregnant.
Update:
Here are the pics...I'm feeling scared and BRAVE....the 'fat' picture is definitely not flattering!!!

Oh, I so hear you, Shlomit. :p I gained some weight after I first got married -- lost 35+ lbs around the time I turned 30, & kept it off for several years. Then the weight started creeping back on. I gained 15-20 lbs before I got pg, another 20 or so during pregnancy, lost the baby but none of the weight :p & have gained a few more since then.
ReplyDeleteI did Weight Watchers the first time around (we have a lunchtime group that meets at my office, which is REALLY convenient) & it's a great program, but it's a lot harder to lose weight these days with an aging metabolism. I think I eat better than I used to, overall, but I do need to eat more fruits & veggies, & get more exercise. I'm hoping we can get walking again after dinner, now that the weather is getting nicer & it's lighter out for longer.
I would need to lose 50 lbs to get back to my original WW goal weight -- NOT gonna happen! -- I think getting to the top of my goal range would be a more realistic goal for me at this stage of my life, and that would mean losing about 30. Easier said than done, of course -- but it CAN be done! Good luck to you!
Thanks Loribeth! That's what I'm realizing (slowing metabolism) and what I'm thinking (having a more realistic goal).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the encouragement - good luck to you, too!!!

I'm with you... can't lose weight right now, but I'm carrying around 40 pounds that I didn't have in high school, or when I got married.
ReplyDeleteI just bought a new bike and plan to bike anywhere that's within a 5k round trip this summer. Wanna do it too?
